I come from a generation that has been blamed for wanting kids and told that this was pointless because there was no future for them. I believed this narrative for a long time, often telling that “not having kids was the right ethical choice”. It was part of my identity.

It’s only in my late thirties when I realized that my generation has been totally brainwashed. I realized how wrong I was and that not only having kids can be a source of joy and fulfillment but that it will unlikely ruin the planet. I knew it would be late for me to have kids but if I had the opportunity, I would take it.

When I saw her heartbeat on the ultrasound for the first time, my perspective on life changed radically. I was going to be a dad. In a matter of seconds, my life goals changed radically.

Today, my objective is to be present for her.

She is going to become my #1 priority.

I do not know how long I have left on this planet and when my day comes, all I will have and leave is memories. I hope I will have enough time to build many memories with my daughter but I want to start sharing some experiences with her now.

This is the objective of this substack: share today words my daughter will read tomorrow.

I hope she reads them one day.

Subscribe now
